Recent Accidents & Incidents

February 3 - A Qantas Bombardier Q400 made a safe return landing to Canberra, Australia after an engine failed shortly after takeoff.

February 2 - A United Airlines flight made a safe emergency return landing to Chicago O'Hare International Airport after striking a bird shortly after takeoff.

February 1 - A student and flight instructor walked away after crash-landing their Cessna 152 in a canyon near Santa Rosa de Heredia, Costa Rica. The instructor reported losing power shortly after departing Tobías Bolaños International Airport.

January 31 A Delta Air Lines A319 made a safe emergency landing at its destination of Omaha after the crew reported a hydraulic failure during the approach to the airport.

January 30 - The pilot of a Piper Cherokee was killed after exiting his aircraft and walking into the moving propeller at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, California.

January 29 - The pilot of a Piper PA-28 was killed after crashing in a corn field near York Airport in York, Pennsylvania. A witness reported hearing the engine cut out before the crash.

January 28 - An American Airlines MD-80 made a safe emergency landing in Boise, Idaho after an engine failed during a scheduled flight from Chicago to Seattle.

January 27 - Both aboard a de Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth were killed after crashing into a wooded area on takeoff from Maryborough Airport in Maryborough, Queensland Australia.
